Matthias Wendland holds the Chair of Civil Law and Information Law at the University of Graz.
His research focuses on IT law and the regulation and certification of AI systems; his interdisciplinary and internationally networked research addresses core issues of information law.
He has experience in research and teaching at renowned universities, including Harvard University and the Universities of Heidelberg, Freiburg and Constance, as well as at the LMU Munich.
Matthias Wendland is also involved in the development of technical norms and standards, including at Austrian Standards International (Artificial Intelligence working group), and is a partner in the AI certification initiative Trust Your AI.
