Heinz Mayer studierte Telematik an der TU Graz, wo er einige Jahre Erfahrung als Universitätsassistent gesammelt hat. Anschließend war er bei Magna Steyr tätig, unter anderem als Leiter des Bereichs Informationsmanagement. 2007 wechselte der Grazer zur JOANNEUM RESEARCH und agierte erfolgreich als stellvertretender Institutsdirektor von DIGITAL, dem Institut für Digitale Technologien, und als Forschungsgruppenleiter der Gruppe „Bildanalyse und Messsysteme“ bevor er 2013 die Leitung von DIGITAL übernahm. Seit 2021 ist er Geschäftsführer der JOANNEUM RESEARCH.

Nicholas Katz is a data scientist and project manager at the POLICIES Institute of JOANNEUM RESEARCH Forschungsgesellschaft mbH.
He studied “Data and Information Science” at the FH Joanneum and empirical economics at the Karl-Franzens-University in Graz and the University of Wollongong (Australia).
He has been working at the POLICIES Institute since 2014.
His areas of responsibility include the design and implementation of quantitative analyses (econometrics and machine learning), working on issues relating to the labor market, regional development and structural change as well as data management.

Nicholas Katz ist Data Scientist und Projektmanager am Institut POLICIES der JOANNEUM RESEARCH Forschungsgesellschaft mbH.
