
Stefan Mangard

Stefan Mangard is a professor and director of the Institute of Information Security at Graz University of Technology. His research focuses on hardware security, cryptographic engineering, and the design of secure system architectures. He received an ERC Consolidator Grant for his research on side-channel security in processors and is the author of a textbook on power analysis attacks as well as more than 150 scientific publications. Before joining Graz University of Technology as a professor, he worked as a Leading Security Architect in the Chip Card and Security Division at Infineon Technologies in Munich. He earned his PhD and his master’s degree (MSc) in Computer Engineering from Graz University of Technology in 2004 and 2002, respectively.
